Today’s Topic: Figuring out which direction to take in life

Life isn’t always straightforward and simple. There are times when we have to take a step back and see where our decisions, actions, and consequences of our choices will take us. Sometimes we realize only too late that we’ve chosen the wrong path, or that a pivotal change is needed in order to get our lives on what we consider to be the right track for us. It’s during these moments that we have to assess what’s really important to us to figure out where to go from there.

WWW #21: Impulses

Today’s Topic: What our impulses say about us

It’s interesting, to say the least, that after living over a quarter of a century in the world I often find myself reflecting on my own character. Am I a good person? Do I do the right thing whenever I can? What exactly has shaped me to be the person I am today? I have a never-ending list of questions about my personality and genuine self that I fear I might not get answers to. Yet, asking these questions and evaluating myself are all part of growing and learning.

WWW #20: Laptops

Today’s Topic: Are laptops being replaced by tablets and phones?

I still can fondly recall the first laptop I ever had. It was gifted to me by my brother as a Christmas present, and I spent my entire winter break using it. The only other piece of equipment I could use to access the internet at the time was the ‘family computer’, a large, bulky box that relied on dial-up. I was in my early teens at the time, and although the majority of my friends had WiFi in their houses, I was not so fortunate. With my flip phone and laptop, I made the most of my two weeks of freedom from tests and essays utilizing the notepad, word programs, and built-in games (side-note, I’m absolutely addicted to solitaire because of the hours I spent playing it on my first laptop!).

WWW #19: Breaks

Today’s Topic: Why it’s important to take breaks in life

If you’re worried about how much time you have left in life, you might think that taking breaks is ultimately wasted time that could be spent being productive. Why sit around binging your favorite Netflix show or playing a video game or two when you could be working towards a goal, dream, or resolution? The answer is, quite simply, that as human beings we need to take breaks (both physically and mentally) in order to be productive.
