WWW #5: Good Vibes

Today’s Topic: Focusing on Good Vibes

It’s easy to get lost in the endless sea of negativity that everyone experiences throughout life. We often think we’re not good enough, don’t do enough, and will never be enough to satisfy our own desires and goals. Looking back on our lives and seeing how many opportunities we’ve missed or the shortcuts we’ve tried to take is painful, but overall necessary to move on. There are so many things that we could have done before that would put us in a better place now that it can seem overwhelming and impossible to start working on them now.

Yet, even with all those dark thoughts swimming around inside our heads, they’re actually useful for motivating us to start or continue working towards our goals and desires. Sure, you might have had a few missteps in the past that set you back, but today is a new day. Go forth with good vibes and good intentions and do the things you need or want to do to better yourself. Start writing that book, taking those classes, learning that skill, plan that trip, or do whatever it is you’ve been putting off for so long due to fear, doubt, anxiety, or any other hurdles you’ve been dealing with in the past.

Even if now isn’t the time to do what you want or need to do, now is definitely the time to start planning for that future. It’s not possible for everyone to drop everything they’re doing at the drop of a hat to pursue their dreams, but it is possible for everyone to start planning for a day when they can do just that.

I myself spent years trying to think of how I was going to take the next step in my writing career, but never made a single move to do so for an excruciatingly long time. Every day that went by where I didn’t try and take he first step was torture, and I felt like I was letting myself down. The dark thoughts held me back for so long that I truly believed that even if I tried to do what I wanted to do, failure was going to be my only outcome. When I finally felt brave enough, strong enough, and fully ready to seriously focus on my dreams and passion, I was fueled by good vibes and positive thinking to help me put my plans in action.

You don’t need to do something as drastic as move to a different city or country, quit your current job, or spend all of your savings to live out your dreams. In fact, many times the first steps are the easiest to take. The real work comes later when you’re unsure of if you should continue or not. Ask any writer who’s ever had a great idea for a story what happens towards the middle of their writing journey. It’s easy to lose steam when the end seems so far, which is why good vibes are so important for seeing something through.


If we only focus on the negatives and put our dreams, passions, and future goals on the back burner because of doubt or fear, we’ll be left with nothing but regrets and ‘what ifs’. It’s easy to put dreams and aspirations aside for another day; the real challenge comes from picking them back up and trying to make them come alive. By pushing aside the bad vibes and negative thinking, almost anything can be accomplished.
